Lounge access
Often not included. British Airways sells a lounge pass as an extra for World Traveller Plus, and Virgin Atlantic says lounge access is not included with Premium. If a lounge matters to you, price it in.
More room, same plane.
Premium economy sits between economy and business class: a wider seat, more legroom and more recline than economy, without the flat bed. Send a route and ask what it costs on your dates, or see premium economy fares we have offered before.

British Airways describes World Traveller Plus as a separate, smaller cabin with wider seats, more legroom and greater recline than economy. Virgin Atlantic publishes the numbers: up to 38in of seat pitch in Premium, against economy seats it describes as typically 17 to 18in wide with around 31 to 32in of pitch.
Lufthansa sells premium economy on long haul flights and says it gives up to 50 per cent more space on all sides than economy.
What premium economy does not give you is a bed. Virgin Atlantic sets its Premium seat against the fully flat bed in Upper Class, and that is the main thing to weigh on an overnight flight.
Often not included. British Airways sells a lounge pass as an extra for World Traveller Plus, and Virgin Atlantic says lounge access is not included with Premium. If a lounge matters to you, price it in.
British Airways allows 2 bags of up to 23kg on most routes. Virgin Atlantic allows 2 bags of 23kg plus a 10kg cabin bag. Singapore Airlines allows 35kg in Premium Economy on routes that use a weight allowance.
Seat sizes change with the plane. Virgin Atlantic's own figures run from 18.5in wide on its Airbus aircraft to up to 21in on the Boeing 787, with 7in to 8in of recline. Find out which aircraft you would be on.

Whether it is worth it, where you find it and what comes with the seat.
It depends on the flight. Premium economy flights give you more pitch and a wider seat than economy, which counts on a long day flight. On an overnight flight it is still a seat that reclines, not a bed. Compare the price for your dates with economy and with business, then decide what the extra room is worth to you.
It is mainly a long haul cabin. Lufthansa sells premium economy on its long haul flights, and the airline pages checked for this page describe it on long haul aircraft. Before you search for premium economy flights on a short route, check whether the route has the cabin at all.
No. Virgin Atlantic sells Economy Delight with 34in of pitch and 1 bag of 23kg, and lists it separately from Premium. Premium has up to 38in of pitch, a wider seat and 2 bags. When you compare fares on any airline, check the cabin name on the fare, not just the legroom.
On the airlines checked here, yes. British Airways lists priority boarding with World Traveller Plus, Virgin Atlantic lists priority boarding and priority baggage with Premium, and Singapore Airlines lists priority boarding and baggage handling. Other airlines set their own rules, so if boarding early matters to you, check the airline's page for your fare before you book.
British Airways lists 2 meals in World Traveller Plus. What is served, and how many meals, depends on the airline and the length of the flight, so read the airline's own page for your route if the food matters to you. If you have a dietary need, mention it when you ask for a price.
